| Cooperation with other associations |

With the Festival being included in the Menorca tot l'any programme, for the promotion of cultural events all year round, during the summer months we have had the chance to work with other associations that carry out their activities during the months of July and August. We worked with Joventuts Musicals de Ciutadella in the hosting of the XXVII Festival de Música d’Estiu (27th Summer Music Festival). Eight hundred people gathered in the cloister of Ciutadella’s Seminary to listen to the North American gospel choir The Sensational Nightingales. Furthermore, and for two consecutive years, we organized two concerts at s’Hostal quarries in Ciutadella,together with theassociation Líthica. In the summer of 2001 A Night with Brandford Marsalis was attended by 1,200 people. The following year 700 people gathered there to listen to Danilo Perez Trio. Finally we would like to mention the programme Jazz i Poesia (Jazz and Poetry), which we organized in cooperation with the Menorcan Library Service in 2000 and 2001. These recitals brought the words and music of Menorcan artists to all the public libraries around the island. |
