Since the Jazz Obert opening concert with the Lucky Guri trio, in January 1999, the association has wanted to remain active throughout the whole year, and this is why it has scheduled concerts all year round, not just for the Festival. A bunch of national and international musicians have also performed in Menorca sax masters such as Sonny Fortune and Ricky Ford; the exceptional presence of a trombone player like Sarah Morrow; the powerful force of Tania Maria; as well as the Spanish Condició Humana, Txell Sust & August Tharrats Blues Trio, La Vella Dixieland, Josep Maria Farràs and Ignasi Terraza. 
Furthermore, we would like to highlight the visit of the great Elvin Jones, drummer for the mythical John Coltrane, who played in Menorca in November 2003, a few months before he died, thus making his concert on the island one of his last as the leader of the unique Elvin Jones Jazz Machine.
