Xavi Maureta Condició Humana, a jazz band founded in 1998. The quartet, composed by four experienced musicians and conducted by the drummer Xavier Maureta, develop all expressive possibilities from their own original compositions.
The band has its own sound, solid rhythm, harmonic richness and magnificent melodies that drive the soloist’s expressiveness. Here we come across a mixture of tradition and vanguard, where new rhythms and harmonies are explored while keeping classic jazz references, having always in mind the will and need to reach out to new audiences. The band has been awarded as the Best Band in 1998, and the Best Cd in 2001 for their work “Entropia”, both given by the Associació de Músics de Jazz de Catalunya. Along 2008, the band 10th anniversary, they get together for some concerts in which they perform a part of their classic repertoire , with the experience achieved after a long time. New compositions by Xavi Maureta are to be presentend for this occasion. |
